Mental Health and Wellbeing
At Perrymount we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our children and staff. In an ever-changing world, positive mental health, is key to everyone’s wellbeing and quality of life. It allows us to respond effectively to challenges that daily life brings and for children, it helps them to learn effectively, cope with day-to-day challenges, and develop into resilient young adults. To help us support those with additional emotional and wellbeing needs the introduction of the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) working within our school is a new approach to provide an additional source of support to families. Their focus is on early intervention, prevention and promotion, which means supporting everyone to understand how to look at their mental health and wellbeing, as well as addressing difficulties as soon as they begin.
The MHST are supporting the school through:
- Training for staff
- Assemblies and workshops for children
- Direct work with families
If you are worried about your child’s mental health or would like to access support from the MHST please contact Mrs Nina Wilson our accredited Mental Health First Aider at nwilson17.209@lgflmail.org
